  Mayaro Beach – South Eastern Tour - 6 to 8 hours

Mayaro Beach trip allows visitors to enjoy a relaxing drive along the South Eastern Coast of the island.  This is the largest bay off the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast. Passing through Manzanilla beach, a scenic drive flanked by thousands of coconut palms and ocean. Driving along the coast we will pass the Ortoire and Nariva Rivers, home of the Manatee (Sea Cow). Mermaid Pools

The Mermaid Pools – A five minute drive followed by an easy 30 minute walk down a gentle slope will take you to 3 of the most beautiful, crystal clear river pools in Trinidad.  The trail which is wide, clear and easy to do, is canopied by pine trees and further along with towering forest trees.  The pools can be as deep as 20 to 30 feet in some areas.  Snacks, Lunch and Dinner for 2 included.

Turure Water Fall Hike & La Concepcion Stud Farm - 5/6 hours (Degree of difficulty for hike – Easy 45 minutes each way).

Walk through amazing rain forest and rivers leading the spectacular Turure Waterfalls which in itself is sight to behold. La Concepcion Stud Farm which was formally an old quarry amazingly converted to a horse farm now used to breed race horses.  There is a beautiful river, along with lovely ponds which is home to variety of waterfowl and other exotic birds. Rio Seco Waterfalls- 5/6 hours
(Degree of difficulty for hike – Easy 60 minutes each way).

This tour is similar in topography to that of Turure.  Rio Seco Waterfall stands at about 20 feet high with the most inviting emerald green pool of about 60 feet in diameter. A visit to Salybia River and Beach, then on to Orosco Beach to visit the Leatherback Turtle Nesting Site, at 5 miles long one of the largest in the world.

Scarlet Ibis Caroni Bird Sanctuary Boat Ride - 5-6 hours
To see the national bird of Trinidad & Tobago coming home to roost in flocks numbering in their hundreds is an amazing sight. Known world wide for the famous "Oil Birds" which live in caves in the lush rain forest hillside, the trip to Asa Wright takes us through verdant valleys with stunning views of tropical rain forest. Yerette Hummingbird Centre - 3 hours

A retired couple, Theo and Gloria, have created a world famous centre at their home in the beautiful Maracas Valley. Astoundingly, artificial lakes created by Trinidad's major petrochemical plant and oil refinery have provided sanctuary for countless numbers of wild fowl! Sushi Classes

Run at The Leatherback Lodge we provide all ingredients and tools and will show you basic sushi making techniques so you can sit back at the end of the day and enjoy your creations for dinner! Learn how to cook sushi rice. Roll, cut and plate three types of sushi roll (futomaki, uramaki and mosaic). And enjoy some complimentary sake while learning. We also provide you with notes to take home so you can practice your new skill. Sushi content may be subject to local availability. Please book at least three days in advance.

Montserrat Hills and  130 Year Old Church- 3 hours incl. drinks

Take a drive in the beautiful rolling hills in the centre of Trinidad. Subject to availability we also visit the beautiful wooden church which was recently completely restored. The stained-glass windows were all made in Toulouse, France. The Stations of the Cross which still have their inscriptions written in French are also believed to be of French origin and are original paintings on tin and are approximately 150 years old.

Hanuman Statue 30m high & Temple in the Sea - 3 hours incl. drinks

Built just a few years ago, this magnificent Hindu temple crafted by artisans brought from India never ceases to amaze visitors . Leaving Lord Hanuman, we drive through an old Royal Road lined with 30 metre high palm trees down to the Temple In The Sea, which was created by one worker in tribute for the saving of his life while crossing the Atlantic. We even pop into the giant Point Lisas petro-chemical estate for a few minutes so you can see where Trinidad's wealth comes from.
